What’s for dinner?

Posted to Announcements on November 17th, 2006

We all have to take time to eat dinner, why not do it together?  Starting in January we would like to have several Dinner Clubs formed.  Please sign up in the foyer if you are interested in using this opportunity to get to know your NHCC family members better.  In January, we will let you know who is in your group and the rest is up to you.  Your group can decide when to meet, where to meet, and what you would like to eat!

We Need Your Help!!!

Posted to Announcements on November 17th, 2006

We are still working to raise the additional funding needed to complete some necessary facility repairs here at NHCC.  We have received pledges for over half the needed amount!  That is great news, but we are coming down the home stretch and need your help to meet our financial goals.  If you call New Horizon your church home, please prayerfully consider giving to this special financial need.  Pledge envelopes are available in the lobby (look for the yellow smiley faces, when you see them you know you are getting close).

College Women!!!!!!!!!

Posted to Announcements on November 2nd, 2006

Friday November 10, 2007 from 7 p.m. - 9ish p.m.  Do you ever wonder what it looks like for a college woman to follow Jesus? We are going to journey together and answer some major questions: How do I evangelize while living in a Christian bubble? How do I defend my faith to my generation? Is God really a lover? How should I view sex? Where do I belong in the church? What is God doing through pain? How should I view human ethics? and many more questions. We want to walk together as we walk with Christ. Please come to Stephanie MacMillan’s house this Friday night from 7 - 9p.m. and we will eat together, talk together, and look at God’s word together. You will also have a chance to meet older women in our church. We can arrange rides if need be. Stephanie’s address is: 403 Pierceton Rd. Winona Lake (before Miller Field). 574-551-1373. PLEASE COME we need you there!!!

From Philly with Love

Posted to Holabeck News on October 20th, 2006

holabecks.jpgHey Teammates! Forgive us … it has been a while. Last week held some unexpected sadness and joys. A family funeral brought my (Trish) family to Philly. It was so good to see everyone, but funerals are a time of great sorrow. For me, funerals are also a time to reflect on the meaning of life and my purpose here on earth. And so, I have been meditating on the following verse.

The Heat is BACK!

Posted to Announcements on October 20th, 2006

Our NEW furnace is now installed and operational! We will have a warm service this Sunday thanks to everyone who has given above and beyond their normal giving. It is because of everyone at our church giving beyond their normal giving that we are able have this new furnace. Thanks also needs to go to those men who saw the problem and asked the church to start preparing for the potential and inevitable break down of the old furnace. This Sunday we will also be celebrating God graciousness to us and his provision for our needs.

News from the Holabecks

Posted to Announcements on October 4th, 2006

holabecks.jpgHello Everyone!! The past two weeks the Lord has been teaching us so much about prayer, the Holy Spirit, and our sinfulness!  Through prayer, God has been changing the lives of people on the blocks.  Through the Holy Spirit, God has begun to unite a passion for this city in the lives of believers here at Urban Hope.  Through our sinfulness, God is pruning our hearts, conforming our minds, and helping us to see our need for fearing the King.

Fall Festival

Posted to Announcements on September 28th, 2006

fallparty.jpgThe festival will be the evening of October 7th. This is always a great event to invite others from the community to join us and get a taste of NHCC family flavor. So plan on coming, and even more than that, plan on inviting someone, someone who may need a little celebration right now. We want our “home” to be welcoming to any who may need a glimpse of Christ in their lives.
